SDO School:5th Edition
The fifth edition of the SDO School will be held remotely from November 2024 to February 2025. It will focus on SDG 11 on sustainable cities and communities, with an emphasis on the sustainable development of coastal cities. The reinforced ambition of this school is to stimulate the creation of interdisciplinary and intersectoral projects: they are the levers of change.
EODD 2025 aims to create interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary projects focusing on the sustainability of coastal cities, through learning based on collective intelligence. New this year: an extended duration, with online training, workshops in Marseille, Tunis and Aného, and a final phase in Marseille. Using the science of sustainability, the school trains people to understand the interactions between natural and social systems, encouraging concrete projects for resilient, sustainable cities.
EODD 2025 offers an innovative pedagogy to train "sustainability scientists." It enables participants to delve deeper into the challenges of coastal cities, create interdisciplinary collectives, and develop solutions adapted to the challenges of the SDGs. Participants collaborate to explore the complexity of the SDGs, integrating a variety of expertise through an iterative process. The school also fosters cross-sectoral cooperation between public, private, associative and academic players, with the aim of designing innovative projects that address global and local sustainable development issues.
The 2025 edition of the SDO School will include a first part of open remote training, followed by participation in one of the three focus groups organized in Marseille, Tunis and Aného. Finally, a final event will be held in Marseille, to encourage feedback from the various focus groups, as well as the implementation of new collaborative actions. ( See diagram below )
