Our DNA: to embody a more responsible and sustainable society, and train all the players involved

ITEM, created in 2020, aims to generate and disseminate new knowledge, shape talent and combine teaching and top-level research to drive the environmental transition, embodying a more responsible and sustainable society. Our actions are focused on 3 major challenges: analysing social and environmental changes, rationalising resources to limit contamination and optimise their use, and ensuring the resilience of societies in the face of environmental risks. The institute’s strength lies in its ability to tackle these crucial issues using a resolutely cross-disciplinary approach that overcomes the fragmentation of knowledge and paves the way for developing solutions and changes in practices and usages that can respond to global change.
