A new funding dynamic for integrated, innovative, transdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research projects.
This call for projects is divided into two sections, one called "white", the other called "colored".

The "white" section
Corresponds to the "classic" Transition en Action call for projects, with funding for integrated, innovative, transdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research projects corresponding to a maximum of one doctoral fellowship and one 18-month postdoctoral fellowship (or 2 18-month postdoctoral fellowships), plus a €30k operating grant. ITEM will provide a maximum of 80% of the funding, with the partner providing the remaining 20%.

The "colored" component
An invitation to submit letters of intent for interdisciplinary projects involving several theses or post-docs, on themes arising from the Journées Annuelles (see § 3). An adhoc committee will select 3 to 5 letters, each of which will receive a €5,000 grant to structure the project or initiate preliminary work, before submission to the "Territoires habitables - Marseille" LabCom for funding (scheduled for February 2025). The LabCom (Laboratoire Commun) is a think-tank, launched by the CNRS, around "Territories of the Future", of which ITEM is a part, and constitutes a potential co-financer by offering funding for ambitious interdisciplinary projects (theses, post-docs, studies) in line with ITEM's objectives and in collaboration with various institutional and socio-economic partners.

Le volet « blanc »
Correspond à l’AAP Transition en Action « classique » avec un financement de projets de recherche intégrés et innovants, transdisciplinaires et intersectoriels correspondant à un soutien maximum d'une bourse doctorales et d'une bourse postdoctorale de 18 mois (ou 2 bourses postdoctorales de 18 mois) auxquelles s’ajoute une dotation en fonctionnement de 30k€.
Le financement d'ITEM sera de 80% au maximum et le partenaire apportera les 20% complémentaires.

Une invitation à soumettre des lettres d'intention pour des projets interdisciplinaires intégrant plusieurs thèses ou post-docs, sur des thématiques issues des Journées Annuelles (voir § 3). Un comité adhoc sélectionnera de 3 à 5 lettres, chacune recevant une subvention de 5000€ pour structurer le projet ou initier des travaux préliminaires, avant leur présentation au LabCom « Territoires habitables – Marseille », en vue d'un financement (prévu pour février 2025). Le LabCom (Laboratoire Commun) est un laboratoire d’idées, lancé par le CNRS, autour des "Territoires du futur", dont ITEM fait partie, et constitue un co-financeur potentiel en offrant des financements pour des projets interdisciplinaires ambitieux (thèses, post-docs, études) en adéquation avec les objectifs d'ITEM et en collaboration avec divers partenaires institutionnels et socio-économiques.
